I've haven't seen anything to suggest Seat will be getting anything fully electric for the time being.

The MEB platform is being utilised all across the group for small and mid-sized vehicles including the ID. range, Born, Tavascan, Skoda EVs and Etrons.

I dare say it'll be used for the new ID.2, ID.Cross, Audi line up and Cupra small EV too.

Any dates yet for when they will announce the Ibiza and Arona facelift? All I heard was that it was likely in October.
 
Probably buried. Separating Cupra from Seat and dealer selection was the most daft thing they did. Seat will die a slow death if they dont get out their EV models.

Still there is an MG dealership up the road and the SUV MG EV in black I saw the other day looked tasty (needs a smaller MG badge thou). I'm working on the basis that Seat / Cupra might have sorted itself out by when I want to buy an Ateca sized EV. Current battery size eating into foot space isn't a seller for me as reported by others. Going to do a leg test in a few weeks time in a Cupra dealership to see whether it's true on what's been reported here.

It'd be a poor move on VWGs part to let a long established and popular model like the Ibiza fade away.
 
Well lets face it the original plan was to close seat down as a car manufacturer and that is why there were not doing any EV's but with all the changes going on with the European Climate goals maybe the ICE Cars will carry on.

@Syphon did say that currently the Future of Seat was still not confirmed so I guess we will have to wait.
 
No those carbon mutterings are just a backlash from populist parties that want to make a fast buck out of somebody else's misery of flooded homes, scorched earth etc. Dressed up as say no to globalisation.... err it's globalists that are planning a way out of climate change. Head in the sand merchants.

Well on Cupra the guy that set the wheels in motion walked, pushed or shoved, pass. There is a story there. Evident the Spanish were not happy to have their factories turned into bike manufacturing or something.

I read a while back (sorry, can’t remember where) that the ID.2 Polo and Cupra Raval will use the ‘MEB Entry’ a.k.a ‘MEB Short’ platform. I‘m assuming the addition of the word ‘Entry’ or ‘Short’ to the platform name means there‘ll be some differences between this platform and the MEB platform used for mid-sized EV’s? I’m aware the ID.2 Polo EV is to be FWD (presumably the Raval will be too), whereas aren’t the ID.3 and Cupra Born RWD?

Agree. VW have retained the Polo name for their ID.2, so maybe we’ll see a Cupra Ibiza if sadly, VAG‘s plans are to kill off the Seat brand; IMHO it’ll be a very sad day if the brand is canned.……😢

I look forward to hearing all about them. Fingers crossed they will bring back the 1.5 150 DSG even in mild hybrid form for the UK Ibiza...

I reckon that's an early picture of them. They were by the railway line. Then they got moved into the shopping centre as a feature... they came from somewhere else. Then moved again. Perhaps they have been put out to grass... then get slaughted.

I joke there was probably a council meeting that decided they should be released to graze back in the fields.... There is a certain amount off fighting about the artwork. Originally that was in Waverdon Hall (some say tower... incomers ?) where the corporation had it's HQ. Given they paid for the resident artists they displayed their work. Some placed in the central library. That is still there then the council got the Waverdon Hall art work when the development corporation closed down and responsibility went to the council... well apparently still a new town authority for the country. Reckon the council got the art, one stage it all got exhibited in the library on loan but moved again leaving just the original. That's got the balloons, LCD watches and Mr and Mrs Thatcher in it. Massive work on the staircase capturing MK in the 1980s.

The planners of MK visited all post war new towns in the UK plus some in the US. The idea was to learn. MK got the American road network built for car use plus those walk ways. No monorail provided as the Bucks head planner envisaged. Whilst there were moaners the advent of electric cars might all put it right... plus robot taxis. The hospital arrived late since it was never in the plans as such. You'd have to look at the old drawing to see whether it was penned it. Northampton and Oxford hospitals were suppose to be the hospitals it was to use. Could be the town planners didnt do hospital planning (obviously)... so like now a campaign was organised for the hospital.

So yes, the MK planners went into the new town parts bin and had MK built from their travels... afraid I went to school with a councillors son on the Development Corporation so got to hear all the day 1 stuff. Got an invite to the opening of the first road... ribbon cutting. Arrived by bike.

Thought I'd better defend MK. I left the area and they built MK. Still being built. Being first nation person of MK, still take an interest.
