Been away for a while but just bought a VZ3 in Graphine Grey .....picking up next week fingers crossed , be weird going back to a fwd hot hatch as my last 2 cars where a 400 bhp Championship Edition M140i and a 450bhp G42 M240i so ive been spoilt a bit lol , Cupra was really good fun to drive and more importantly has usable power.....one I'm getting is the same as this,

Picked it up on Saturday and not had a chance to clean or use it yet , grabbed a front splitter though lol and will pop some pics up once its on ......also found some old pics of my old Sub8 and 300 I use to own,

Congrats on getting the best colour!

What brand is the splitter and how much of a faff (or not) to fit it?
Hi , its a Maxton one and is a bit of a pain to fit if you do it like I did as I didn't want any hole's in my bumper and used 4 original fixing points and 3m tape in various locations which needed a car lift and 2 people but its more than doable but you have to be precise as you remove the tape from the 3M first , the kit comes with nut, bolt and washer kit which ideally needs the bumper removed, the easiest way to fit would be to use the 4 original fixings at the rear and 1 strip of 3M along the front with a tag left long you can pull off after , hold and fix in place with the original fixing points and push the front into place and gently pull out your extended red tag from the 3M along the front gently pushing it up as you go if that makes sense.....this might do the trick but all you would need to do then is to just screw in 4-5 self tapping screws for belt and braces ,

Looks so good! What’s it been like going to the Cupra from the M240i? I’ve currently got a 2025 G42 M240i with every option and thinking to change to a Cupra Leon VZ3 but worried it’d feel like a big downgrade. How have you found it so far in comparison? Obviously it’ll be slower but just in terms of daily comfort and overall quality?

This was my G42 and had every option , Full Carbon kit plus I had it Femto unlocked running 450bhp so very different with power and 4wd but in terms of comfort and quality its very good apart from the Sennheiser lol , but its a fun car to drive that you can use all its power unlike the M240i

Maybe it would be better to say that the M240i is 'slightly quicker' than the Cupra Leon - saying one is slower than the other suggests that both cars are 'slow', which they both definitely are not. Does that point something of a second really matter in the real world when considering changing from one car to another?

The 4.5 VZ3 is very well appointed as standard and I think the only thing missing for me, if pushed, is a HUD - nice to have but that really doesn't matter that much personally.

Some might look down on the Cupra and it may be considered a 'lesser' car than a BMW, bit who really gives one? Remember that the 4.5 VZ3 is basically a 300BHP Golf Clubsport under its (more attractive and edgy) outer skin, so hardly an embarrassment to drive. Have a look at one of the reviews here in the Media section and you'll see how good it is.

And I say all this as a self confessed BMW and VAG fanboy of many years standing. ;)

Totally agree as both are quick enough for the roads for sure and ive had many Cupra's over the year's and have always taken them over the Golf's even when I could buy both..... My 4.5 is a great little car and good fun but in terms of peformance its much slower than my M240i but it would be as it was also tunned in engine and gearbox with a 0-60 of 3.5sec and the B58 is such a power house engine.....if thats what your after and I nearly went the other way and upgraded to a G87 M2 but its a lot of money sat around with a car you just cant use on the roads......Cupra is plenty good enough for what I need now and I enjoy driving it....
