Hi, I have a 2021 Leon Mk4, 2.0 150hp. It doesn't have a factory towbar, is it possible to install it after? Did anyone do it and is it a diy job if I have obdeleven to activate it? Is there any kit that exist? I would appreciate any help, thanks
Don't use OBDeleven, visit a specialist where they can use ODIS to adapt the installation asif factory fit & record against the build data. It's also the only way to make use of the 2 year main dealer warranty.
But yes, assuming you don't have one of the weird engine/gearbox combinations that can't tow, you can retrofit the genuine towbar

I installed an original electric towbar. I bought a pre-assembled wiring harness (the same for the Golf 8 and Octavia 4) on allegro.pl (80e). The original button was cheaper at the dealership than a used one (40e), a used module (on allegro.pl 125e) , and a used towbar (180e on OLX.pl). I did everything via OBD11. The most important thing is to buy the module from a Leon, otherwise you'll have to go to someone with VCP or ODIS to upload the parameters. There are four wires going to the fuse box and four to the module. It's a very easy job. You can easily find the coding online, regardless of whether it's a Leon, Formentor, Golf 8, or Octavia 4.
