No matter how many things I've seen this pop up, usually just ten minutes into a trip, it always causes a sinking feeling....

If it's a short local trip, no worries, I can hit either option with confidence and if the worst happens I don't need anything from the car.

As yesterday, just starting a two hour trip to a new destination where satnav was vital, the worst did indeed happen - everything stopped and could not be fixed, reset the infotainment, phone etc but nothing worked.

What morons design a system that updates while it's being used, then only resets once it's turned off and locked for an hour etc?

I've had a new Leon every three years since the MK1 came out, this is the very last one I'll ever have and VAG group especially. Thanks VW you pulled a blinder on customer experience and satisfaction.

There's a software update to fix the "new settings are available" pop up.

Some clueless analyst designed it, and worse than that, some others accepted it. I have 35+ years experience of software design and development, and the update processes in recent iterations of VAG infotainment systems are one of the worst I've ever seen.
