My Formentor has a 3 year warranty the 12 volt battery is faulty and will not retain a charge and the stop start system was disabled due to the faulty battery, I booked it into the Cupra dealer in February but whilst there they expected me to wait for several hours whilst they charged the battery as a check but I couldn`t wait that long, then a short time later my Formentor went in for service they had the vehicle for 2 days they charged the battery and said it was a good battery I pointed out that the battery does accept some charge but quickly loses it whilst the vehicle is stationary, they were not interested I returned home with my Formentor and I continually have to charge the battery and the stop start system was still disabled, I contacted Cupra Customer Service they also were no help at all it is fairly obvious that as the warranty on my Formentor by now expired 3 weeks later they had decided that it was in their interest for the battery to be replaced at my cost once the warranty had expired!

I have come to the conclusion that a Cupra is just an expensive Seat now!

I have to say that Cupra service is very hit and miss unfortunately and I should think this is the same for most dealer networks. I do think that a register of dealerships where forum members have received excellent customer service would be worthwhile. We know the poor ones (Johnsons Preston would be mine) but a list of good ones (Cox’s Blackpool for me) would be very useful. Something the forum leadership could consider? Nothing controversial, just a list of dealerships that have offered great customer service.

Not used it (as I use VAG Specialist or Track Focused garages) but you can leave reviews on the Dealers section (top bar)

so if you select dealers, Select search dealers, keyword Preston and Johnsons, then you have the option to leave a review.

I bought my 6 month old Formentor from Marshall Cupra of Leicester, they agreed to service it but didn`t I had to complain to Customer Service and I had to get it serviced locally, their Salesman had forged my signature on the Sale Invoice as I had part exchanged my other Formentor and that I had completed the sale of the new one when I hadn`t, It went into Listers Cupra Worcester for a service they used 5w-30 engine oil instead of the recommended 0w-30 oil as "it is the same oil" according to their factory trained "Technician" they didn`t cancel the service indicator and didn`t enter the service in the digital service record, I have just had a service at Listers Cupra of Coventry they decided a knackered battery was a good battery, they did a vehicle visual health check and on the work sheet it was noted that at 3 years old the brake fluid was tested as satisfactory, the DSG gearbox and 4wd Haldex transmission were both due a service but didn`t do it so ignored the 3 year service schedule on all 3 counts, they didn`t address the fact the Stop Start System was no longer working and acknowledged the "Panoramic Sunroof was noisy and needed some "special grease" on the seals but didn`t have any grease - "you will have to book it in again when we have some grease in stock!"

What a complete shocking shower for Cupra dealerships, I spoke to Cupra Customer Services on various items but to be honest the response was one of couldn`t careless!

With regard to the brake fluid, DSG box, Haldex transmission and Sunroof as it is out of warranty in 4 days I would prefer it is served correctly so I`ll do it myself!
