Please bear with me. I know this has been discussed multiple times before.

Last mouth I bought a 2022 seat leon. The car is amazing and drives so smooth. Everything is great except for the infortament system which is buggy / laggy.

The current software installed on my leon is Software version: 1803 Hardware: H56

According to seat themselves I should be on 1896. The issue is the car won't update OTA and I can't log in to become primary user. (it just gets stuck on the loading screen)

I've taken it into seat themselves today and they have said "we can't update it" we have no idea why it's not working. When we plug the computer into it, it's not even reading the car! (basically saying they have absolutely no idea what the issue is, they have never seen it before and told me to go back to Arnold Clark)

Arnold Clark have agreed to pay for this diagnostic as its within the 60 day warranty so luckily it's not costing me a penny.

The chap at seat looked online and he said the previous owner has never updated the car since day 1 so it's on the original software from 2022 out of the factory.

He suggested that maybe the car has been remapped and that's why the infortament software isn't updating and is incredibly slow / buggy. But they have no way of checking this so it's just a guess.

What are my options here? Should I push on for seat to fix it / replace what parts are required (although they said if it's proven that it's being remapped they will not help in any way shape or form and refuse to work on the vehicle)

Or just return the car to Arnold Clark and demand a refund.

The issue is the trim is the excellent lux DSG model so not hugely popular so I'd want a like for like replacement (if they agree)

Thanks

A remap wouldn’t stop the infotainment system from updating. A remap isn’t able to void the infotainment warranty or provide them with a reason not to touch the car. They’re talking out of their backside

However, bring it to us and we’ll sort it
100% this.

Even if it has been remapped (which a dealer can check and confirm), a remap, be it engine, gearbox or both will have no implications regarding your warranty on the infotainment system.

I'd find a more competent dealer.

DM me your VIN and I'll look into it for you.
