Hey everyone!

I have a 2005 SEAT Leon Cupra R (MK1)

It's started leaking power steering fluid from the driver side boot on the steering rack, indicating the whole rack needs to be changed.

I know the Cupra R has a quick rack and wanted to ask if anyone knows where I can buy one from?

Need it urgently so any help would be greatly appreciated!

You're better off having the exact part number first, as there might be a lot of variants of the part. Send your VIN over to me via PM and I'll look it up for you.

The exact part number of the steering rack for your Cupra R is 1ML422061A.
You might ask a dealer or a parts supplier for an original one or check Autodoc for equivalents from third party brands.
I can help you further if you need any of those bolts, nuts or clamps in the illustration below.

Uhhh.... what? Don't need the part number because it's the same as the Audi TT, so that gives you other options.

And how much this pleasure will cost you ? I need to prepare mentally when mine starts leaking 🤣

Haha not as bad as I was expecting 😂 I picked up a used quick rack for £100. Bought inner and outer track rods for total £40 and then labour to fit is £170! Not too bad I think 🤔😂

The steering rack has been replaced and car is driving sweet! Getting the wheel alignment done right now and we should be all sorted! Fluid was leaking out of the top reservoir cap itself but I believe that's because of the pressure in the system so after a nice drive it should be all good!

Hopefully many many miles left in this little beast!

Thanks for all of yours help, much appreciated SEAT family ❤️

That is not bad. I was expecting much higher cost. Hopefully used rack will last. Is it used or refurbished?

It's a used rack from a Cupra R that had around 90k miles on it. Seems to be amazing so far so I should be all good for a while 😊

There are two banjo bolts in a section named "oil container and connection / parts, hoses" right after the power steering section in the parts catalog.

One is N90809301 and there's a remark next to it as "12-2"
The other is WHT001800 and on the remark column it is shown as "M16x1,5"

Not sure if it's relevant but there's another part described as "Non-return valve" that looks also like a banjo bolt, with the number 1J0422529A.
No thread size provided in the catalog but some spare parts sites show it as "M14x1.5"

There are also two more part numbers but they are for other variants, not this Cupra R with the given VIN.
