Hi everyone,

I'm installing a 4-channel HCP4 amplifier, Focal ISU 200 kit, and a 275W RMS JBL subwoofer on my Leon 5F Xcellence (10/2017), and I have a few questions.

I'll get the signal through the high-level jack, connecting it to the front speaker cables (pins 9-10 and 13-14 as pictured).

Does this mean the tweeters won't be amplified since they're on pins 2-3 and 6-7? Could this cause problems?

Is there any coding I need to do after installation?

Thanks for your replies.

Your infotainment system is outputting 6 channels not 4

If you have Seat Sound then the channels are
Front left high & low
Front right high & low
Rear left high & low
Rear right high & low
Subwoofer
Centre speaker

If you don't have Seat Sound then the channels are
Front left high
Front left low
Front right high
Front right low
Rear left high & low
Rear light high and low

If you don't have Seat Sound you could configure the infotainment unit as if you do, this would combine all the speakers onto 4 channels and give you a dedicated subwoofer output too (you could add a 1 channel amp for this in the future)

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I read that my unit has 6 channels (i don't have Seat Sound).

I'd like to amplify only the front speakers with channels 1 and 2 of the amplifier and the subwoofer with channels 3 and 4, so I'll leave the rear speakers connected to the factory radio.

Do you think it's possible? How should I connect to the Quadlock? I was thinking of taking the high-level signal from the front woofer speaker cables (pins 9-10 and 13-14) and running them to the amplifier. Then, reconnect the woofer and sub cables from the amplifier outputs.

I would use a quad lock extension cable, so you can cut and splice this without having to cut and splice your car wiring harness.

For the front - cut the front speaker wire in the extension - (assuming your amp has hi level inputs?) run the cable from the headunit to your amp, and then from your amp - back into the wire so it goes to your door.

Thanks, that's exactly what I'm doing. I got an extension cord and am connecting the amplifier to the front speaker wires. I'll post some photos as soon as I'm done!

Cool, yes please share photos when done.
I did this back in the day, nice simple/reversible way to connect to the door speakers, just means a few runs of cable up and down to hide under the carpet - assuming you amp will be in the boot?.
