Hello all im just after some help.

Few months ago I noticed that my brake pedal wouldn't return fully without help, it would return 80%ish so I went online(first mistake) and saw a few things that said it could have been the guide pins so I took the rear calipers off and re-greased them so they were free, i did notice that 1 piston wouldnt rewind but this didnt help the issue. So I went and bought 2 brand new febi rear calipers along with the small metal brake pipes that attach. Fitted them but had issues with bleeding them so gave up and took it too Seat to sort which they did along with a full flush. This sorted the binding feeling but the pedal still didnt return fully without help. The car was then standing for a week or 2 and now the brakes feel like theyre stuck on. When pulling away and reversing the car will stop without me pushing the pedal.

So basically I'm just looking for help with what could be the next issue with them. Discs are in good nick and not extremely rusty. Ive priced up new rear brake pipes and handbrake cables but dont want to spend on them just incase its the master or slave cylinders.

Have you looked at the front brakes? Kinda sounds like you've got a duff front caliper, probably a corroded piston.

Can either refurbish the caliper yourself or as you've done previously, swap it out for a new one.

You can check it's not the handbake cables by just disconnecting them, I did have one cable that failed and held the handbrake on. However that didn't effect the feel of the bake pedal.

Cheers for replying ill have to have a look at the fronts, hopefully theyre not going as they're brembo 4 pots. Im wondering if its the handbrake cable seizing up.

Jack up each corner - stand on the brake pedal and release and spin the wheel and you should feel any binding brakes.
