I recently noticed that when the driver's door is open, the door light comes on but the main light does not respond. Some time ago, the driver's door lock was giving me problems with the microswitch, but after cleaning and lubricating both lights worked. What could be the cause of this?

If its not a faulty bulb or corroded terminal inside the map light it'll be down to a faulty door lock mechanism.

I thought it might be the door lock, specifically the microswitch. Some time ago, as I said, the lights did not respond either on the door or inside. Could this lock be causing the problem again even though the door light is on?

If all the other doors are ok, then like Thai said, it's quite likely. If you need a module then i'd recommend the 'Ridex' branded ones on autodoc.

But you can also just change the microswitch, it is cheaper but more difficult because you have to open apart the whole door lock.
Door lock repair mech
did that on the genuine passenger door and also used contact oil on the motor and re greased the lock internals last year, the lock module was changed in 2012 as it failed on mot day, odd its lasted that long even with the original inner panel seal in tacked , winter is when you see them fail as the original lub drys out over years that stresses the lock motor

I'll wait for the weather to warm up because it's a bit cold here in Bulgaria right now. As I said, I've already changed a lock once, and that was on the back door, which is more complicated. Here, the entire lock costs about 35 euros, and I'm thinking of changing the two front ones.
