If I would want to upgrade te standard sound system to the beats system in my Leon ST, would would be needed to be done? (I have access to all the beats speakers as wel as the trunk subwoofer.

Is everything just swapable? Are there wires in the trunk for the sub?

Would different DSP settings need to be loaded? Would I need a completely different amp?

Don't put Beats in your car; you're spending money on a Beats system that's completely isn't worth it, and you'll will regret it.
Go for an upgrade kit with a separate DSP amplifier.
Take a look at this website; they have a complete upgrade kit for a Leon KL, including a DSP amplifier.

I’m inclined to agree. I think the same goes for most OEM upgraded audio systems offered by VAG; quite a few comments on VW Golf forums by owners who are disappointed with the extra cost Harman Kardon audio upgrade in the mk8.5 Golf.

From a personal experience I paid for the upgraded Dynaudio system in a mk6 Golf I bought new back in 2011. Maybe my expectations were too high but I was disappointed and underwhelmed by the upgraded system; the ‘A’ pillar tweeter grilles with the Dynaudio logo looked nice though 🤣. I’ve always just stuck with the standard set up in any car I’ve bought since then.

Anyone have experience with this setup. I do like the modularity it has. Start small and build it out.
