Gave the car a quick clean before it's service today

. I do the same with my car before it ever goes to the garage.

How long does a quick clean take you? For me it’s probably a couple of hours(!) . I don’t often do a quick clean; a normal one usually takes me 3 hours minimum. Fortunately, time spent car cleaning isn’t an issue for me as I’m ‘time rich’ (retired); one of the benefits of getting - or being - old…….

Absolutely, anytime goes new a garage MOT etc always make sure it's spotless.

I gave it the full works at the weekend, including interior probably around 3 hours. I had only driven around 100miles since so this was just a wash and rinse and then used a Rinseless wash as a drying aid, so adds a little more gloss. Think it was about an hour.

Absolutely, anytime goes new a garage MOT etc always make sure it's spotless.

Me to. I also put my ‘do not wash this vehicle’ hanger on the rear view mirror and specifically get the service advisor to add a ‘do not wash’ note on their job sheet - I don’t want my car’s paintwork to get a free scratch and swirl treatment.

A 2-3 months after I bought my current car, I needed to go back to the dealership to pick up the spare wheel (car came without one, and a factory spare was agreed as part of the deal). The salesman I dealt with when I bought the car asked me who I used to clean my car. When I told him the only person that I would let clean my car was me he jokingly asked me if I wanted a job cleaning the cars for the dealership! .
