Hello,

Got my myself in a bit of a pickle. Long story short, few months back my rear driver side door stopped opening from the outside but I could open it from the inside. Well yesterday, stupidly, I engaged child lock whilst messing around with the actuator (which I presume needs replacing) and closed the door... now I cannot open the door from the outside AND the inside so im double locked 😭 can someone help? Suggest any ways I could manually unlock it?

You might have to see if the door card can be disassembled and you can operate the mechanism manually.
Sounds like the door module is faulty, similar problem on the Mk2 cars. Simple fix with some WD40.

Obviously, only simple if you've not locked the door from both sides o_O

I have managed to pop the door panel off, now I have full access to the actuator on the inside. Ive been feeling around to see if there was a way to manually unlock the door but doesn't seem like it.

I believe I may now need to break off the plastic cover to access the internals. But wanted to see if there was another way of getting it open before going for the destructive method

I can't tell you for sure on the Mk3 platform, but the fix for the Mk2 platform is in the video below. Hopefully, the design wasn't changed very much between models.
