CUPRA has unveiled a new CUSTOM CUPRA by ABT pack for the Leon and Formentor, giving buyers a factory-backed way to add a more aggressive look to both models.

Developed with ABT and hand-assembled at the CUPRA Racing Factory, the new package is designed to bring some of the visual attitude of CUPRA’s more extreme models to a much wider part of the range. It was presented at the Red Bull Ring in Austria during CUPRA Performance Days, and will be available from July 2026.

The key thing for buyers is that the package is not identical across the range, so here is a clearer look at what each model gets.

For the Leon, the CUSTOM CUPRA by ABT pack takes inspiration from the Leon VZ TCR and gives both the hatchback and Sportstourer a much more aggressive appearance.

Other than the whole Xhibit thing of "yo dawg, we put a spoiler on your spoiler", it looks seriously good. I'd totally be up for those add-ons.

All show and no go (apart from 19" wheels / wider tyres).

My money's safe.

I like the wheels as they’re not diamond cut. The rest of the pack I could live without.
Interestingly, I notice on the SEAT website, there's also now a couple of model trim levels where the wheels are not diamond cut.

I wonder if you need to buy the full pack including the alloys or can pick and choose bits. The splitter and spoiler are a nice edition, in a Golf GTI Clubsport sort of way, but the bumper stick on fins are a bit OTT in my opinion.

I found this on clip which shows them clearer in real life, which gives a better idea how they look...

I spoke with Cupra Germany and ABT the other day. According to ABT, there won't be a retrofit solution; it will only be available with new car orders.

I find that really disappointing, as I ordered a VZ 325 in February, which will be delivered in September 2026.

If your car is not built yet surely you can update the order and pay to add this kit on.

Unfortunately, it's no longer possible to change an order. I wanted to add something to my order three months ago, but the dealer said that wasn't possible because the vehicle was already scheduled for production.

It was good of the brand to release the info direct to the general public before cascading anything to their dealer network 🙄
Do you think that's Germany specific as the release we saw the way I read it at least indicated that retrofit would be possible. Unless anyone thinks
I've read that wrong.

The CUSTOM CUPRA by ABT pack will be available for the CUPRA Leon, in both 5-door and Sportstourer variants, and the CUPRA Formentor from July 2026. Customers can configure the pack as part of their vehicle order or have it fitted at any authorised CUPRA dealership.

As far as I know from ABT, this applies to all countries where the Custom Cupra by ABT package will be available.

Here is ABT's reply:

Good morning Mr. ....,

Thank you for your kind inquiry.

The CUSTOM CUPRA by ABT will only be available through the configurator when ordering a new car.

An after-sales solution is not currently planned.

Best regards,

Peter Urban

Head of Sales & ABT Performance Cars

The reply from ABT definitely contradicts what is described in CUPRA's marketing. I would try to speak to CUPRA themselves to confirm as it sounds like there is some confusion from somewhere.

I would find it hard to believe an authorised Cupra dealer wouldn't be able to order the parts. Surely they need to be made available for any sort of accident repair or warranty work at dealer level too.

Perhaps the Head of Sales from ABT is confusing not offering them for sale to the public on their website etc. and not a Cupra Dealership sourcing the parts directly.

I first contacted Arnaud Hacault about an article from the website: seat-cupra-mediacenter.com.

This is my email:

Dear Mr Hacault,

A few days ago, the "CUSTOM CUPRA by ABT" was presented and I think it looks awesome. The website "https://www.seat-cupra-mediacenter.com/" states:
"The CUSTOM CUPRA by ABT pack will be available for the CUPRA Leon, in both 5-door and Sportstourer variants, and the CUPRA Formentor from July 2026.
Customers can configure the pack as part of their vehicle order or have it fitted at any authorized CUPRA dealer."
Does this mean that I can have the package retrofitted to my Leon VZ 325, which is expected to be delivered in September 2026, by a dealer?
I thought the package would only be available for new vehicle orders. At least that's what the media is reporting.

I then received a reply from Cupra/Seat, which reads as follows:

Thank you for your message and your positive feedback. I'm very pleased to hear that you like the package as much as we do as a brand.

Currently, the CUSTOM CUPRA by ABT packages are primarily intended to be available ex-works. With this approach, we as a brand want to take this route for the first time and offer the best possible integrated OEM solution.

However, I'd be happy to check with our partner ABT again whether a retrofit is possible for an additional charge.

For transparency, I will also CC one of our contacts at ABT.

@Peter Urban, do you have anything planned in this direction?

Best regards

and then i got the reply i postet ealyer

I would, of course, be thrilled if the kit could be retrofitted so easily, but can the dealer simply order the kit without a VIN?
