I noticed sometimes after I stopped the car and started again while it was in Cupra mode even after switching gearbox back to sport it won't have pops/crackle when letting off the gas past 3000rpm.
It works again immediately after switching to another mode and then back to Cupra.

I never noticed it before downpipe modification obviously, but now that makes me wonder if sometimes the engine doesn't open up properly if you leave it in Cupra and come back to drive later without switching modes.

To note I don't have a pops and bangs tune specifically it just sounds better with the custom downpipe.

Yes, engine goes back to "normal" mode if you turn the engine of. I always use "Individual" mode with the engine set to Cupra. When I start it I need to select "Individual" again to have pops and also extended idle rpm to 1000 rpm.
The car is Cupra R 2018 with manual gearbox.

Agreed.

Everything reverts to default with engine off.

On start up, need to activate/deactivate;-

Drive setting; comfort, sport, Cupra etc.
Engine stop/start
Speed warning, lane assist, etc.

A right pain.

On 2018 and earlier versions i think start/stop was possible to disable with coding through battery voltage settings but newer ones not possible. I bought a physical switch from aliexpress that goes inbetween the cable and always turns it off automatically. Had to install it under the climate control panel but works flawlessly.

However visually the drive settings stays what I selected last time - if I had it on cupra it is still on cupra after I start the engine again later. However it seems it is only visual and not true. That's what I made the thread about as it's actually misrepresenting the setting.

Lane assists etc other systems always work as I left them, never had issues there.
Only sometimes the distance from car ahead setting for cruise control resets but that is random and seems like a bug with memory.

Yes, as I wrote it is just the engine mode that i reversed to normal, not other settings in the driving profile.
