rather you than me...

but yes - that will 'get' you to the clutch - not sure there's anywhere for it to drain out

the purpose of the hole is to use the flywheel as a tacho

when i was faced with this i decided not to do it as it some how didn't seem right

afterwards i was glad i didn't as my suspicions were correct and my clutch plate was as smooth as a babies bottom.

from then on clutch slip was obvious to me, and the difference between the odd slip which sometimes confused with surging issues and constant slipping as a result of a worn clutch

I have just tried the soapy water trick and it didn't work on my car, it made a slight improvement but it is still slipping.
Time to bite the bullet and cough up for a new clutch.

Thanks for your help.
