Ive got my front strut brace. Its the OMP one that is for the gti but i know it will fit as its the same as surcalations one.

I can get it to fit right at the drivers side strut but i cant get it to sit right at the passenger side.

Will i have to move the engine coolant tank??

I didnt think i would because the pics ive seen of it fitted the tank hasnt been moved. Im confused

Can anyone offer help/advice??

Thanks in advance.

be careful with omp

ive twice bought omp strut braces 1 for a clio then second for a 200sx and both of them didnt fit

i ended up getting sparco in the end and i will never buy an omp 1 again

I know on the GTi's, you have to move the bonnet switch for the alarm but thats about it. Should go straight on?

Thats what i thought. I know it is the right one n that cos i have looked into it for a while and wanted to make sure that i got the right one ao thats why im confused that it doesnt fit

Any suggestions??

its getting fitted on friday as its getting done the same time as my exhaust.

Right been back out at the car trying to get it to sit right...

But after swearing at it etc :censored: it still wont go!! [:@]

It looks like its slightly touching the top/edge of the coolant tank.

Anything i can do with the coolant tank?? If required.

couple of pics which may help.

It is tight!

Thanks for the photo's, they do help!!

Yours is touching the top of the coolant tank aswell. So im sure with alittle bit of force it will go on!! I aint fitting it, its getting done at the same time as my exhaust.

My strut brace has the hole for the small screw-type thing that comes up at the passenger strut top.

I had an OMP one on when i bought the car, its only since iv had a problem with the clutch cable I noticed that whoever fitted mine has removed the bolt closest to the bulkhead for the coolant tank to make it fit. Not sure if that helps or recomended.

I suppose you could remove that bolt and move it somewhere else on the coolant tank section or even just support it some other way.

My strut brace is identical to the one on the pictures above so it must fit!! I think you would get away with a little force to slightly move the coolant tank.

Got my strut brace fitted today and to get it on one of rear bolt holding the coolant tank had to be removed and the tank moved slightly. But dont worry it is still firmly in place and im going to give it alittle extra support by using a cable-tie where the bolt should be!

looking nice mate,

top tip use autosol on that rocker cover and trust me it works a treat, will definatly make your engine bay look ten times nicer!! its only like £3, downside is its a lot of arm movement to make it perfect.
