Hi

I am currently looking for an LCR and going to see another one this weekend - seen a few bad examples locally!

The interior is very "plasticy" and doesnt look the best. I was wondering if there are any dash mods etc avaiable or what people have done to make the centre console etc look a bit better? Obviously there are pillar mounts for gauges etc available but anything for the centre console?

Has anyone changed their steering wheel and do you have any pics of what you have went for?

Thanks!
Gordy

Dashboard - A blooming good clean. Get armor all products etc. If it's got a standard head unit, get rid of it and get an aftermarket Apline or something good, fitted with the adaptor it looks better. Other than that if you want structural changes, go buy a MK2... :)

Gauges on pillar mounts look cool aswell.

There is a thread on here with digital gauges sunk in where the driver right side air vent is..... Looks smart.

I'll try and find it

My mate fitted a dash from an audi s3 into his mk1. Looked exactly the same but of a much higher quality and feel.

Yeah the mk1 Cupra dash is very 90's but I thought it is the same part as an A3/S3 dash?
Need to have a closer look when my local A3 guys have their dyno day.

One smart upgrade is changing the air vents to OEM satin black Audi S3 vents with the backlit airflow controls. I have these fitted and they give the dash a slightly more 'premium' look. Defo easier/cheaper to change just the vents, not the whole dash. There are mods like changing the dials to blue tinted R32 but IMO they look rather ghastly.

i thought the MK1 leon dash was from an audi a3...

exactly
anyway here's a pic of my dash - 2 gauges in the pillar plus you can just about see the Audi S3 vents. main diffrence on the vents are:
-greyish-silver knobs instead of those lipstick-red Cupra ones
-the scroll wheels for airflow control have cool orange/red backlights - really matches the speed and rev dials, looks best at night

you'll have to copy paste the link coz im not allowed to post urls yet...

The S3 dash is made of different materials and higher quality finish than the Leon. I went from an S3 to the Leon and it was much better. Stalks and switches etc have a rubbery finish on them and the console and trim is better.

My dash doesn't rattle and mines a rattly old diesel on 87k miles!!! I've done the S3 vents upgrade too - dead easy and much better to look at, but those white clocks and red backlighting are still toss. Always looked like cheap aftermarket items IMHO but that's about all I could slag the car for, and its a minor niggle.

hmmm, so you we could swap the stalks n things for s3 ones? to get the 'premium feel' when washing windows and doing lights...

How much are these s3 vents? Take it they come as a set of 4, or do you have to buy seperately? Easily to fit and wire up?

Mine were new from Audi and the set was about £85 I think. The wiring is easy - you can take a link off the radio so it dims with the dimmer etc. I did a brief fitting guide in this thread (its not very good and its across 3 or 4 posts within the thread so scan the whole thread - its quite short).
