Hi all.

Just wondering what sort of prices these cars should be going for now?

Free valuations seem to be all over the place.

Looking at a 2008 58 white K1 with 5,500 miles on the clock totally standard.

Person who bought it a year ago who I know personally paid in the region of about 18,800 for it and i'm now looking to buy it.

What are people's thoughts?

Yeah just had a look now.

Quite funny that the first few K1s that come up all have different bumper/exhaust setups. one has a left side exit, one has the centre exit and one with a double exhaust.

Only done 5,500 miles on a 58 plate? Blimey. How many of those miles has he done? Has it been stood a lot or only done short journeys then? Short journeys won't do the engine any favours.

Not sure what they go for now, but I bought my white cupra (no aero kit) w/black alloys, bluetooth, 4,500 on the clock a year ago, which is an 08 plate for £16k. Some say the K1 holds around a £1,500-£2,000 premium on top.

With that in mind, maybe £16,500 privately? Obviously from a dealer it would be more & tbh prices vary massively. Does it have any optional extras such as black alloys, bluetooth, xenons, ipod kit etc...?

The thing is that the K1 is nothing more than a Cupra with an Aero Kit, a badge and a central exhaust. Some people like the kit in its entirety, some dont.

Some people will try to make a regular Cupra look like a K1 which is very easy to do, but there are various options for the exhaust on the MK2 Leon - OEM Left hand exit, twin exit (one from each side) and the K1 central exit exhaust. Someone may decide to add the kit, but keep the standard exhaust for example, maybe to save money, or maybe so it doesnt look like a VXR style exhaust.

I am not even sure of the V5/Log Book differentiates Leon Cupra/Leon Cupra K1, but other than that, there is no way you could tell a Cupra/K1 apart if the Cupra had the Aero kit, badge and exhaust fitted.

Buy a Cupra that has the aero body kit fitted with the central exhaust same as the K1 and you'll have a better spec car as you will get Bi-Xenon lights which a factory K1 doesn't have.
If you really want a K1 then buy the badge and stick it on, no one will know the difference and you would have saved yourself a few grand.

Actually 2008 model year onwards Cupra's be they K1 or standard variety, the bi-xenon lights were no longer standard fitment and were only available as an extra cost option. So some K1's and some cupra's may have xenons and some just ordinary bulbs.

The low mileage may bump the price up a bit. I would try to pick it up privately for around 16-17K.

As mentioned, the K1 has no differentiator in the log book but do seem to be valued a little higher than a standard cupra.

I would suggest go for standard cupra and add body kit (if cheaper). If you can get one with extras such as bluetooth, bi-xen lights etc even better.

If it appeal to buy a k1 'ready made' at a good price then do that :)

really? i take it guide dogs are welcome then?

well techie you will be the best placed guy to answer the ops question then

if it was a cupra with the same extras (except the k1 body kit ect) what would the price be?

We had a White one a few weeks back which sold for £18k so they do go for it and that had less options on it and more miles.

Someone in sales is better placed to answer these kinda questions though.

Or less as in my case

Residuals on my k1 is going to be strong :cartman:

Yeah, shame the road tax added £200 straight off to that price along with the obligatory yearly increases. Seems that even the cheapest prices from the cheapest places are getting higher.
