I want to opgrade the handling of my car, and are looking into opgrading to LCR wishbone/control arm and spindel. but where i live there is only few LCR so cant find the LCR parts from any breaker/scrapyard. so now i am wondering what is the differens between LCR wishbone/control arm and the ones fitted to the TT/S3/R32?

I thought they where the same but i can see they have different part numbers:

LCR wishbone/control arm
1ML 407 151
1ML 407 152

R32/TT/S3 wishbone/control arm
8N0 407 151 D
8N0 407 152 D

All comments are welcome, and all help you can add is appreciated.

I'm not sure about the R32 but the S3 LCR and the 225 TT have the same wishbone and as Tim said the only differences are the part numbers, i have done what you are looking at as when i lowered my Cupra the wish bones pointed upwards and not level and it puts strain on the drive shafts ripping the rubber gaiters. To do the mod you will also need the LCR/S3/TT Hub there are two types so beware when getting these one has a bolt hub nut the other has a hex style bolt, (yours should be the nut type) they will both fit but if you get the wrong one you will need to change the drive shafts aswell so best to check first, you will then need a new Arb and drop links, i used the R32 23mm one. When you have the new bits just remove the Cupra parts and swap with your new bits then get a four wheel alignment done. If you need any help or info just drop me a PM.

thanks nice info
Check my RR, page 24, i just installed poly bushes, plenty of pics there.
thanks, i had the powerflex poly bushes on my wishbones (not LCR), the rear bush did not hold more then 2years. now i have fitted audi TT rear wishbone rubber bush. maybe the LCR bushes are better!?

A said the track rod ends different, they are fitted the opposite way round to the Cupra but you can either swap the sides around, by that i mean put the right hand side ball joint on the left hand side and vice versa or buy the Cupra R steering rack ends and ball joints and put them on the cupra rack, they screw straight on.

Can I ask why you're looking in scrapyards? New wishbones aren't that expensive.

Is that from a dealer or a GSF special? I'd have thought even in Denmark there would be some aftermarket places that would be a better option than a scrapyard?

If that is the going rate then fair enough a scrapyard does seem to be a better option.

Dealer only Slimy, GSF etc only list for the LC so you're pretty stuck. I replaced both my wishbones as it worked cheaper for me this way but when I sold my old wishbones on here the amount of interest I got was phenominal, people biting my arm off almost.
