I've had my mk3 for 2 days now and feel like there isnt enough of 1.8tsi impressions around here so I thought Id start the ride thread. Only have 1 phone pic but will do a photoshoot when the weather gets better.

As for the actual engine - I cant get enough to be honest. My previous car was a Hyundai i30 (2012 1.6GDI) and this is on another level. The power is incredible, miind you Im not used to fast sport cars. But everytime i take off in the Sport mode it feels like its literally going to take off the ground, especially with traction ctrl turned off. I test drove the 1.4 and 1.8 feels even more sporty, really happy about the choice.

I never drove a DSG but this is so comfortable, you almost never feel the gear changes, the "AI" is also good, depending on how you put your foot down it knows whether you want to downshift or go easy. Havent noticed any problems going uphill or in certain gears, all good. I just put my foot down a bit and it immediately knows it needs to use more power. I find the shifting paddles a bit hard to get used to as I forget what gear Im currently in but that will come with time hopefully and I dont really need them with Sport mode.

I usually drive around town so Start/Stop has been great so far, again I love how the car decides depending on how you put your foot down on the break pedal.

Havent noticed any issues, tried paying attention to the door seal thing or any other noises, all OK so far.
