Hey all,

got a mk2 2l 8v (AGG)
Quick help needed to confirm sommet. In a nut shell I was towing someone the yesterday and the next time I used the car (today) within 200 yards the clutch pedal sank to the floor. anyways got home ok thanks to first gear lol.

so i thought it was pedal/box but that all seems ok as does the cable.
the clutch arm (that the cable pulls) moves up and down very freely.

so we took the wheel off and popped the green cover on the side of the gbox and according to a friend who was helping....... the retracting rod (when the clutch is engage or not engaged) wasnt coming to the end of that cam assembly thingy mabob. basically the main shaft wasnt retracting to the end instead it was doing nout.

We've got a clutch off a mk3 golf AGG but what else do we need ?
What does it sound like to you guys?

Desperately need it on the road in time for vw festival on sunday lol.

As you can tell I know nothing about clutches/gboxs on this car.

Any help is greatly appreciated and sorry for bad explanation!

In case anyone cares i've stripped it all out and down.

The clutch looked fine just a bit worn. So i'll replace that while i'm on.

What has actually happened is the clutch arm that gives it the cam operation has cracked. I might take a pic to show you wat i mean if anyones interested but least i now know whats up !
