charcoal

Stupid question comming..... What is this thing in the pic? it seems to me to be some kind of charcoal filter maybe? Can i remove it? do i need it? if i do remove it, can i just block off the pipes and bridge out the wiring? taaa (sorry i stold teh engine bay pic off someone on this forum)

Sorry if this is a stupid question but can the charcoal filter just be removed without causing problems? Believe it's just there to help with emissions? :confused: Have a mate with a MK3 Golf VR6 who removed his without any problems

what do i need to plug off to not affect my engine? heres a pic of my bay to help. I think theres a Vacuum return pip that goes into the throttle body. Do i need to plug that off? Cheers Chris

I always used to hear this tick tick tick as the car was idling at the lights or junctions etc, now it has stopped! :confused: All I can hear now when the car is idling is a low slup, slup, slup kind of sound, should i be worrried and can i take it apart to clean it? My mpg has kinda tailed...
