• Hey Guest👍👎 We're looking for reviews of your local CUPRA or SEAT Dealership - it's quick and easy to do: Leave a review now
First question does it have a badge saying Raval ;) . Cupra are fond of not letting on what the car model is. You see pass and scratch your head and say which Cupra was that.

Price and specification is going to be one against the other Vag alternatives. That Skoda and the ID mentioned in the link. Crossover not crossover over those models.

I guess this will be a place marker for subsequent Seat EVs that might become available a few years down the line.

I'd like to know what is the tire size for non-VZ models and when the first cars will be delivered.

Sense would say that given how popular the Ibiza has always been (and they don't offer a Cupra version) why not produce an EV version of that?

There'd definitely be a running for the Ibiza and Arona in full EV form, they're a big motability seller and motab are being pushed hard into EV. They'd share the same underpinnings as the ID.Polo ID.Cross.

I think that if there was a market for it then the Ateca would probably have received the hybrid running gear as used in the Leon and Formentor.

Happy to skip the hybrid. Well ofcourse the Terramar is an Ateca successor in Audi guise with the hybrid option but not EV yet. The Elrog is there. The issue is when Seat / Cupra decided not to play on all fields. A bit of a Swiss cheese more than Skoda... I think.

Another one to check. See whether it has the row of click switches to control functions as shown on the upcoming VW IDs. Also whether the infotainment has the simulated cassette drive when playing audio. How much they have carried through from the VW new design into it. Probably a lot. This:

That was a pre production model but demonstrated the new thinking on the movement away from putting everything on the touch screen.

Figured this out already, since you can already make a leasing deal in Netherlands.

Good observation Tell! Do any Cupra’s have badges/ID? I have no idea what im being passed by on the motorway these days other than a Leon or Ateca and that’s because they’re based on Seat’s. Is this a general move away from badging up vehicles by manufacturers?

It saves painting out what the car is, if it's never put on. VW you pay extra to buy without the markings. Perhaps they need to make the illuminated badges able to be turned on and off as well. Some people moan about their presence. Perhaps if you are a member of the tribe without markings apart from the tribe logo you know. The Terramar and Tavascan look quite similar to me.

When does pre-order open? I assume it will get the £1500 grant but will Cupra apply for the higher level of ECG at £3750?

Finally, I read in Autoexpress that the Cupra Raval is to be announced 0830 on the 9th April will this include prices and specs too?

At least here in Finland the sales will start on the 9th April.

They should be the same for the UK, I know LHD cars will be made and delivered before RHD with summer delivery in Europe and UK is Autumn.

Anyone seen a picture or video (not rendering) of Cupra Raval with Magnetic Tech color? I just ordered one, and the rendering looks promising, but it would be nice to see what a real car looks like. :)

I think it may be here... there are two mat colours. 3.18.

Did you check the boards video as well @Syphon in case he's got any out takes. This video:

There was a mat car in the place where the motoring press were allowed to make their videos. I know they cut away to this in this video.

It's probably difficult to render as metallic paint picks up different hues but this one is suppose to pick up more. You probably need outdoor pictures of it. My Ateca takes on a green colour on an overcast day and blue grey metallic on a sunny day. This colour will do more I reckon.

The blurb says :

Design & Color: The Raval features a sporty, compact hatchback design with a 4.03m length. "Magnetic Tech" is a matte, gunmetal grey color option designed to emphasize the car's sharp lines.

I reckon you might be buying it in the dark without seeing it. 10 years ago... cough more or less Seat had assorted cars going round the dealers with the different colours on. If Cupra did the same you'd have to find out where the demo model was. Fortunately my colour was used on another car so one went out onto the dealers lot with the sample model and found the vehicle in that colour with one of the sales force. I did buy mine without seeing it in that colour or driving it. I attended a trade show to see it in LH drive but not the colour.

I can feel your excitement.

Ah well that colour is on the Formentor so it would be possible to see the colour if a dealer had a Formentor in, in that colour. Range of videos I dug up on that colour.

Past my bedtime but what you do is get the paint code then Google and see where else it's used. Fun activity. Seat and Skoda share paints. Evidence that Cupra and Audi are starting to do that now. Cupra going upmarket.

As for the paint colour code I reckon the conversation has already been had:

Its the old model trick least with Seat's where they have those little plastic model cars in each colour, you take that one outside with the dealer and find a car on the lot in daylight with that colour and imagine how it would look on the chosen model. Metallic paints these days take on different hues between strong sun light and overcast days. My rhodium grey changes from quite blue in sunlight to hints of green on an overcast day.
