0 boost pressure on startup

in need of some information now, occasionally il start my car and the secondary air injection kicks in much louder than usual, the sound comes from the breather filter part (secondary air inj pipe)and the car will idle at ~1100-1200rpm for a few minutes like normal before creeping down to just below 1krpm

but theres no boost at all, period! this can last for about 5-10minutes before i see a little boost and anything up to 25minutes until il hit full boost. this has been happening for a while now, and didnt start to occur after any mod was fitted.

last night out in Daz_Gibbos ibiza the same happened to him but this has only been happening recently to him. he disconnected the battery and reconnected it after a few minutes, started the engine again and it was fine


iv had an intermittant fault in the past regarding a leak in the secondary air injection system, but it hasnt appeared for quite some time now. yet iv had this no boost occur 3/4times this week but only once a day

also when its in this soft limp mode, the car fails all the checks on vagcom (cant remember wot its called but u click it and all these Pass/Fail checks appear)


any body have any ideas about this? when car is normal, everything is fine, all checks are passed, maf values are higher than most have seen, boost is average for revo.

but it doesnt happen all the time?

typical example the January meet, at the end we all left but only i had no boost therefore when every one floored it on the m4, i was left behind foot to the floor at 7!

it cannot be right

and sometimes il start the car first thing in the morning, cars normal with full power from the turn of the key, drive to uni, then return to car to drive home around lunch time and there wont be any boost? and il struggle to surpass 70mph in 5th

me and Daz said last night that its quite baffling that the car is so **** when this happens cos after all its still a 1.8 anyway, yet it'll struggle to keep with a 1.2 corsa if the turbo aint functioning

Have you checked all your vac pipes are on and not leaking, i had the secondary air injection fault pop up a few times and it was where i had put a valve back on the wrong way after replacing my vac hoses.
