02 sensor how many wires

Hi my leon 1.8 vt has a short circuit code on the pre cat o2 sensor.
Can any one tell me how many wires it has and whether a universal one will work.

Don't get universal O2 probes for 1.8T! These engine are very picky about sensors, especially lambda ones. Get Bosch or OEM one (same thing actually).

Hi apart from the plug on the end, what other difference is there. I`ve changed many parts in the past to aftermarket ones with no problems. What makes the 1.8t any different. I am right in thinking it has 4 wires. its a 2000 with the app engine.
