My vehicle's registration document and manual state the CO2 emissions for this engine are 142 g/km, but the SEAT web-site says 139 g/km, as does VCAcarfueldata.org.uk. Anyone know what the true figure is, and should I get my reg document amended? (OK, it doesn't affect the tax now, but it might in the future...)

Its stupid what they're doing with the new road tax next year. But I'm pretty sure mine will acutally be coming down to £95 a year! :D

I wouldnt have though that 3g/km would really make much difference would it?

Dunno, I think the border-line is around the 140-141 g/km mark :( Anyway, I'm thinking of changing it for an Ecomotive model next year anyway.

That said, the car seems to cost more (there's no way I'd pay the going price for BlueMotion Polo) than I'd save in tax and fuel. And of course, a test-drive could put a stop to all these plans...

Apparently they are a lot more pricey than a standard Ibiza and you acutally get less on them. I know the tyres are even budgeted to be "economical". There's not split or even folding rear seat I believe.

So you actually get less for more money but it's meant to be better on fuel. I'd rather have more luxuries on a Cupra tdi! :D

st10587, it's not dumb at all. See http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/in_depth/629/629/7293011.stm . Note the border line between the £110 and £120 tax brackets --- hence I am curious (just e-mailed the DVLA). Would hate to be giving the Chancellor £10 more per year based upon a clerical anomaly.

Ibiza 130 tdi, no I'm not too keen on the Ecomotive's thinner tyres. Makes it look like my parents' 55PS Polo.

I honestly don't know bud. Cos at the moment they are split into two - different taxes for cars after the 51 plate and those on the old <Y plates.

Just have to wait and see. It's all about getting more money. Road tax is meant to be to repair the roads but it doesnt go to that anymore. Just goes to the government. Our roads down here certainly dont get repaired!

Better stock up on ARB bushes then!

looks like the ibiza 16v will be £185 a year but the hotrod is tax/emissions exempt still

one balances the other for me then :):):) i'm happy

if they ever scrap it and add it to fuel though i'd be screwed LOL

The 1.2 engine has changed since the ibiza was first made, my 03 is 64 bhp and so less powerful then the one currently being sold, the current one might also be more economical and cleaner.
