Basically I fitted my old 6n 16v pipercross induction kit to my 1.4 mk5 and along with a loud noise it made the car feel more free and the response was better but I hated the way it looked under the bonnet.

So now I have removed it and put it back to standard and my god its driving me mad didn't think it helped that much so now wondering wether to get a k&n panel filter for it so I can keep standard look under the bonnet but still have slight better response again.

So anyone got one would love opinions before I buy one.

It won't really do much mate probably get 2-3mpg extra but power wise nothing, even the cupras hardly get any gains as I had 1 on my boc didn't make no difference save your money mate

i noticed a gain in respose when i had other filter on just dont want to have an induction kit rather keep it standard under the bonnet and for insurance purpose

just want it to be more responsive or a bit more than standard as now i have gone back to standard its so bad compared to having filter on

Is yours the 1.4 16v non turbo? Trust me mate its a placebo effect you just think it is more responsive I had my car on the dyno with air filter and with performance air filter it made the same every run, and that was my boc, now if you get a decent exhaust then you'll see some gains top end, this has been my experiences anyway

not after more power just when i had air filter on and wanted to overtake say put your foot down and it responded straight away

now with standard air box back on and standard filter in it does nothing and takes a while to get going so didnt know if a panel filter would help it a bit more rather than making up a induction kit for it.
