Hiya guys

I currently have an N reg seat ibiza with the 1.4 bosch mono-motronic fuel injector system. I have bought a fuel injector off ebay for the 1.6 bosch mono and wanted to know if it will fit in mine?

The part number of the new injector is 0280150651.

Im pretty sure my car is currently running lean with the cone air filter.
Any ideas? Will this be too much of an increase and will it do too much damage or will it run ok?

Any help / ideas welcome.

I don't think it will be running lean - there's plenty of headroom to allow.

I don't think the 1.6 mono is any different (got one sat on the back of the vario at the moment)

Im pretty sure it will fit...but

Problem is i dont know what cc the 1.4 injector is and i dont know what cc the 1.6 injector is. Then i could tell HOW MUCH bigger the injector is going to be.

hmmm

Well fuel injector went in today. Easy job to do, took 10/15mins.

Car is running well, drives as normal round town but when you boot it the difference is really good. Just what i wanted........a bit of extra *umph* when i want it

This is what i installed. Its used in the 1.6 and 1.8 bosch mono motronic fuel injection system.
But also fits in the 1.4 TBI :funk:

Hi i dont know much about cars but would i be able to do this to mine i have a 1.4 of the same year ABD engine the CLS version, i also have an induction but would like a bit more power. Sorry if this seems a stupid question but im still learnin about cars.

Cheers
Rich

The ABD engine has a bosch mono-motronic fuel injection system, much like a few other VWs/Seats.

If you can find a fuel injector for a bosch mono-point (from a 1.6 or 1.8 engine) it will fit in your 1.4. Problem is these injectors are expensive (£100+), but if you can get on off ebay or from a scrap yard its well worth it.

These injectors are bottom-feed types. Although they are slightly more old fashioned, i prefer them as they keep a constant flow of fuel.....this inturn heps cool the fuel and cool fuel is better :)

Saying that the bosch mono has a heater matrix in the intake manifold to heat up the intake air / fuel mix to aid the burning process. This helps all that extra fuel you squirted in get burnt.

I have never tried disconnecting the heater matrix, but mite be worth testing one day. I need a rolling road really :D

Come the new year I'll have a 1.6 1F engine you can rape for inlet bits.

all FOC, but collection only

I have never seen a 1F engine, although i have looked for them. Do you have any photos of it?

Throttle body, intake manifold... prob a fair few other bits i'd have too depending on how different they are to mine.

none to hand (in fact the only bonnet up pic was when it broke down!)

the TB is 50mm in dia, whereas the ABD was 100mm. I think it's got twin injectors though - will have to check

I'll see if I can get any at the weekend though

Really apreciate that mate. Twin injectors! Blow me, i didnt know that!

TBH my 100mm intake means the air doesnt move fast enough with my over fueling little engine. This means petrol drops out of suspension as isnt ideal for power at low rpm.
