1.4 EcoTSI arriving tomorrow - DTUK box?

With less than 24 hours to go until my ST arrives, idle browsing found me on DTUK's website which reckoned I can have a plug-in box that gives me 183PS and 297Nm for £429.

Should I banish such thoughts from my head?

On the other end of the scale, I'm also looking for rubber floor mats...

I wouldn't touch plug and play tuning boxes, it should be specific to your car.
You have no idea what it's actually doing to your ECU to get any gains in power.

You mean you might be giving your ecu bad cholesterol...? The tuning box is doing nothing to the ecu, it intercepts the signal after the ecu...

I think in this day and age, tuning boxes are tested pretty well and are very specific to the model of the car.

Do they take into account age, mileage etc then, like a rolling remap would do?

Although, I know this thread is in regards to a new car.

Look, I like a remap more than a box more than the next guy, but dont go believing that 95% of the mappers out there actually care how many miles on your car you have or the condition. Most just upload a previous file to your ecu.

And with everyone running around crying about TD1, a box is an understandable choice.

I bought a DTUK Tuning Box for my FR 184. DTUK said to put 500-600 miles on the car without the tuning box first. Since then I have had the box on the car no problems.

Rubber Mats - I am sure these were the ones I got & they are fine
