Hi Folks,

After 6 great years with my Leon FR 2017 1.4 6 spd (150bhp) sadly It is time to change vehicles, my car has never gave me any issues.

I have seen a nice Leon 2022 FR sport 2ltr DSG in desire red that is nice with 14k, 1 owner.
And a Formentor 2022, 1.5 grey. 13k one owner

Is the 1.5 & 2ltr a descent engine compared to what I have, anything I should look out for before trading?

Thanks!

The 1.5 engine, if 150, will be no different to your previous. The 2.0 will be quite different, also thirsty. The mild hybrid is okay, the PHEV can be unreliable and very expensive.

Your problem will be the new controls and software, particularly if the car has not had the multitude of recalls, updates and fixes - some of which can require module replacements.

Even if it all actually works as VW intended it's still a terrible interface; the climate control in particular requires constant intervention to be comfortable, whereas my 2018 Leon just worked.

The formetor with the 1.5 will struggle to get above 35MPG at least mine does, it really doesn't feel like 150BHP, it's a nice car but the 1.5 is slow overall. I am comparing that to my 2.0 Leon FR with 180 bhp.

The leon is 190bhp 2ltr petrol, not hybrid.

Not sure what I like reading about the infotainment system on these vehicles though. had a look at the formentor and that was running 1940 software, wasn't too slow of a car but not up with my FR. I'll have a think, maybe time to stray away from the VW group.

Well I went of the Leon in the end and so far really like it.

Will this model have a chain or cambelt? Leon FR Sport 190bhp 2ltr petrol DSG 2022

Also when I first press the ignition button without starting there is a hum I can hear activates, also hear when I turn car off and remain in it, any idea what it is?

The hum is just the motors for the AC behind the dash and a few other modules, nothing to worry about my Formentor does the same. I would be inclined to say its a belt on those the 1.5 is a belt so Im gonna assume the same, but I could be wrong

By all accounts my car has a chain?

Also the formentor had kessy on a 22 plate but only just noticed my leon fr sport 22 does not have it, was it more a Cupra thing?

Still really liking the car but had a few issues with errors appearing on screen for a couple of seconds then gone and constant drop outs with carplay wifi
