I reckon stripped out rear seats spare wheel and jack etc and run on minimal fuel and a better launch a 13.9X time is achievable

I thought i was launching better but my 60ft times were still awful!
The line was pretty greasy on sunday. my best of the day was 14.1 @ 103.4mph

I was also quicker than a standard S3 
They're quick off the line, but i caught him once moving.
some of these times aren't very impressive! i've just sold my 106 gti and bought an ibiza hoping to get it alot quicker.
my old 106 gti, stripped with an air filter;

my old 106 gti, stripped running 157bhp;
14.63 @ 94mph
doing a K03s upgrade on my ibiza and hoping for 13's. it's perfectly possible. i can't believe some of these revo'd ibizas still doing 1/4 mile in the 15's!! that's shocking!
must be all in the launch? i was doing 2.00 60gt times in my 106!

I'm guessing the reason would be the torque because even if you lift at fairly low rpm you still get wheelspin!
I've been santa pod with the Focus Rs Forum and they was only doing between 15.4 and 16.6 all day and most of them where 250bhp plus. They was just wheel spinning on the line.

What was the power and weight of the car on the first run?
and the weight on the second?
sounds like your 106 was closer to my lupo. and I want to get it into the 14's
I'll have to check my 60ft times, I think they were closer to 2.2 maybe 2.1.
edit: reading those times for the focus make me pleased that I managed to get what I did! not bad for a 100bhp 1.4! lupo power

The launch is part reason, after all if u dont have the revs right you'll just have a sinking feeling when u start. although my best 60ft the other day was 2.3s on a 15.3 run, but my car was badly missing. if it werent i could have got into 14s no problem.
take note as well as to what time of the year times are made, as running in the middle of a heatwave isnt a fair comparison to someone else run in march even if both have a front mounted intercooler.
then theres ofcourse the ski slope comments i enjoy reading
on the first run i don't know how heavy the car was. just the back seats out, but after that i ran the car nearly completely stripped everywhere. i had it weighed at 870kgs and it was 157bhp.
so 1/4 mile isnt really an accurate representation of how quick a cupra is then? 60ft times don't seem that good. only reason i am confused is because there is a point on a dual carriageway, and when my 106 was cammed and running 157bhp. i could hit 94mph by this marker, tried it in my cupra last night and i hit 101mph. now the oly mods i know of are a full scorpion system. i only picked the car up yesterday! it seems to pull alot harder over 90mph than my 106 did, but at these speeds, it's more than 1/4 mile really if you see what i'm saying?! hence why the actual 1/4 mile time might be slower, but once over 1/4 mile the cupra would catch and pass.
