Inside the fuel filler flap om my 1.8tsi SC FR it says min 98 Ron super.
I only have the car 3 months but have been filling up with super for about a month and a half and can definitely see more mpg and performance.

The gains you're noticing there are more than likely from the engine bedding in.

The car is now 3 years old.....I bought it with 13400 miles on it in April.
One owner so I suppose the engine may still be bedding in...

I use esso super which is only 97 ron (1.8 TSI) and there is an increase of 2-3 mpg over the esso 95 ron, I didnt notice any less performance on the odd occasions i used 95 but I was only on less than 1000 miles so still bedding in. I might try V power and see how i get on with that, but i generally think the premium is worth it for any turbo engine
