I have my Leon with the engine mentioned above (DFYA) and I have a few questions for you.
1. Does this engine have a wet or a dry timing belt?
2. What interval, in km, needs to be changed? I found on Skoda forum that their manuals say 210-240 000 km to be the magic number for this engine. My dealer didn't said anything about the mileage. Mine is at 39 000 km
3. What about the oil pump, is it driven by a belt and needs to be changed as well in order to not get debris in the pump's intake?
I am very concerned and really need some real info, because from what I saw, there is conflicting information on internet.
