Right i recently got a hallman boost controller for my car and bypassed the n75 i set it all up and it worked well.

Took it for a drive to set the boost obviously thinking it would go into limp if boost was to high.

Booted it and looked at the boost gauge and it hit 1.7bar peak and held ive turned it down a bit now so it running around 1.5bar just over in 5th.

on standard turbo?

I work in PSi, and mine used to spike at 26 (now and then), but regularly 24 and 25psi.... Now I'm lucky to get 21 or 22 psi....

AFAIK 14psi = 1 bar, so if I'm getting between 22-26, then an estimate would say I'm getting 1.7 to 1.9 (if I'm right in thinking 14psi is 1 bar)

edit: Not hit 25 or 26 psi for about 9 months tho... lol Hell, can't remember last time I touched 24

1 bar = 14.5 psi
Dunno bout standard but mine peaks at 1.6 and changing the actuator today so mite put it to 1.7 dunno then again i mite leave it at 1.6 cuz thats what jabba set it up at haha :D

Its still on its k03 its only a stage 1 map by AMD may give them a shout and see what sort of boost they would of mapped it to then.

It was only hitting 1.4 bar before but that could of been because the n75 was playing up.

Mat 1.7 bar is 24.6 psi so about the same as you was getting.

Im sure in right in thinking that anything over what it's mapped to request would put it in limp straight away..???

The ECU cannot measure more than 1.55 bar, so it won't matter what the ECU requests past that.

I'd imagine that the AMD map must have a fairly large range for boost to deviate by if you're holding (what it thinks) is 1.55bar for longer than expected

IMO, it's a bit too high, and you're risking your seals (and clutch)

how do you go about bypassing n75 .im looking into electonic boost controller whats everyone using;)

Got a manual boost controller mate...

Got a hallman one nice bit of kit. you just take the pipes off the n75 and run it through the boost controller instead. leave the n75 in the tip and hooked up electricly to keep the ecu happy.and all should be good.

Ok interesting that.

Ive turned it down a bit so hopefully all should be ok.

awesome mate you got a link where i could see with pics how its linked up cheers mate

Right update time on this i hit limp mode on the way home from work tonight and popped an eml overtaking a car in 5th on the motorway. I tried turning it off and back on but it wouldnt come out of limp so i had to limp it all the way home

Just scanned it and got back 3 codes had a search on here and results are.

16795- Which is the "sai incorrect flow" code.

16487- "Maf signal to high" this one was coming up as intermittent ive had it once before so may have to change the maf for a new item not bad considering its only my second one since ive had the car.

17963- Which is what ive been waiting for really "charge pressure upper limit exceeded" so it answers my question for me and i need to wind down the boost a bit.

Still scared the fook out of me though because my first thought was ive just done my tubby...

I'd log it on VAG COM to see requested vs actual boost to see whether that gauge is giving you an accurate figure or not

Ive only got the shareware version of vag-com so cant log it.

Im pretty sure its accurate it was WOT in 5th holding at about 1.6-1.7 bar on the gauge when it hit limp.

Was hitting 1.4 bar before on the gauge and never hit limp or had any problems so im going to try and set it so it peeks at 1.5 bar and see how it goes..

Both related

ECU reads 1.55bar, and the airflow measured will be that of 1.7bar, so the calculations won't match.

Extra boost will mean higher g/sec seen by maff.
You really want to be careful here since none of you have done any vagcom logs to see the worth of this. Speaking from experience you will be running lean during the boost spike, Rods and clutch are being risked. The spike is a short lived power gain with no real world gain to offer. where you need the extra omph is near the red line but since the map has not been adjusted the n75 will open the wastegate and kill off any potential gain.
An uprated actuator and custom remap is a different story though and is the way forward.
At least log 031 if your going to persist. ;)

have no spike on mine hits 1.45 bar on revo stage 2 then after, i goes higher to the revs it tails off when the little ko3 goes out off poof  have logged mine no problems with it

the n75 will give you spike power see picture. mbc don`t you can do the in parallel to
