You are right about your turbo mate, i don't think there is anything wrong with it from the sounds of your problems. It sounds like one of your coil packs is failing, when you get the 3cylinder running does the ecu light flash at the same time?
If you need a garage to sort it, then find a specialist in VAG cars local to you. Anywhere like "mr clutch" or "ATS/kwikfit" will just guess at the problem and cost you loads in the longrun. A good VAG specialist will have seen these engines a million times and probably spot the issue straight away. Just google "VAG specialist slough" and read a few reviews etc.

Look if the car missfires under boost then it is only one of two things Spark Plugs or Coil Packs.
You should tell Mr. Clutch to explain you what is going on with your turbo. Maybe it's the wastegate that has the problem maybe it can't hold the boost who knows. I wish i could plug VAGCOM to your car and see what's going on. It's strange to me.
On the other hand if i were you i would do a compression test on my cylinders to see how much compression is on each of the 4 cylinders. Because you stated that one spark plug had a little bit of water or maybe oily and you tested the coil pack and changed the camshaft sensor then it's the only logical thing to do i believe. If it reads 150PSI on all cylinders then it's good but if you see something like 90PSI then piston rings ? valves more likely ?
I don't want to scare you but i can't thing of anything else right now at this very moment.

Is there oil in the plug tip when you take it out ? And what color is the smoke if any coming out from the back of your car ?
