Hi guys I'm looking to buy a 1.9 tdi ibiza 99bhp.

I wanted to know how I can tell If it's a pd engine and if I can swap the 130/150 turbo and injectors in...?

Also If you could point me in the right direction of the actual parts needed for a single mass clutch conversion....?

Also anything to look out for mechanically when going to look at it....?

Sorry for the dumb questions its just my first diesel and I dnt really know much plus I tried googling but dint really know what to google.

Thanks in advance.

Well I'm getting a 99bhp for £500 so if your willing to give me a £1000 then sure ill go buy a 130 for £1500.

But you would be looking at spending literally hundreds on another turbo and injectors, plus then you'd realistically need a map to gain any real benefit, and the difference in insurance wipes away any saving you would have previously had.

A quick search on eBay £268 130 turbo injectors was just bringing up new so a full search needed. However a full complete 130 engine £500 and ill be fitting myself so still cheaper than ur funny idea. Also insurance isn't a problem so don't you worry about that.

I don't mean to be rude but are you actually going to help with my questions or just be ignorant? I only asked a few questions for help and info. I never asked if I should buy a 130 or about insurance prices!!!

Yes a PD130 or 150 turbo will fit, you will also need the injectors from either.

You'll need the engine mapping.

However, the PD100 has 256mm front brakes and a smaller hub than the PD130 (which has 288mm). So a conversion to, say, 312mm brakes is quite simple on a PD130 (as the hubs are the same size), but not possible on a PD100 without changing the hubs.

I would say that Darkside are probably the best place to source a SMF, but they're not cheap.

Ok cool thanks.

Well I'm not really wanting to do t now just maybe summer project tbh but I appreciate the advice.

So you know the engine code of the tdi pd ibiza engines?

PD100: ATD, BEW
PD130: ASZ, BLT (ASZ until around 2005/6, BLT mostly after that)

There are probably other PD100 engine codes.

If you want a project car that is just "cheap thrills" and a bit of a learning curve etc then nothing wrong a PD100. If, however, you will be taking the mods more seriously and looking for good power gains, the PD130 is a much better place to start (don't underestimate the difference in brakes!). The PD160 is an even better place to start, but they hold their value very well and as such aren't cheap to buy at all - which is why you'll see loads of modded PD130s!

Ultimately, your circumstances and end goal will dictate which is the best choice for you.

Ok cool thanks

Tbh i dont want more than stock power so not looking for a mad project and by stock power I mean 130/150 max.

I just want a run about with a little poke so I think a 100pd is good enough as I've test driven one already so the 130/150 is just always good to have as an option.

You'll get plenty of MPG out of any of the PD engines, and the tax isn't too bad either. That's the reason I have my PD130, I do a fair few miles, and it's the best of both worlds.

so will a pd130 turbo bolt straight onto a pd100

@Brettblade-

From experience, I know a revo remap will give the pd100 closer to 150bhp.

Revo told me I could expect 143ish, similar to that of the new CR FR 2.0tdi and after going up the road with my friend, who owns a standard 143bhp fr, I passed him slowly but surely.

No gear misses, equal loads, same fuel- my guess----- A GOOD remap, 143 bhp PLUS!

That doesn't necessarily mean your car has greater BHP, there's torque and weight to consider as well.

I would also say that almost a 45% increase in power is a very aggressive map, and whilst it looks good on paper, I would be very worried for the long term reliability of the engine.

Don't get me wrong, they are great engines, but the subtle differences between them make them very different in terms of stock power and potential power. Just for reference, I've seen figures of over 180bhp from an otherwise stock PD130, but the same appliesto that, I would be very worried for that engine!

And to answer the previous question, yes I believe the PD130 turbo is a straight swap onto the PD100.
