Hi again !

Looking to get a map on my Leon soon after I pick it up - The car will be doing 2 x 500 mile journeys weekly so ( 1000 miles a week ) because of this I think a map would make it nicer to driver and also more fuel efficient.

I have no experience with this type of tuning so can someone point me in the direction of some good places to go.

I think from searching Rtech seem to offer the custom maps and at £250 its cheaper than the revo t £299

Im not looking for a race car as she is only 105bhp standard but some more power would be nice and better MPG would also help, anything else i should consider though ?

Looking to book this in the next week or so with a view to getting it mapped end of Jan :)

I am also looking for a guide on service items, a how to perhaps ? More so the fuel filter TBH and also the light type as looking to upgrade the standard bulbs with better ones for more light output :)

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you need a train ticket .

I had mine remapped at r-tech and definitely recommend the place. No experience with the 1.9tdi and r-tech but been a custom map he will tune it to how you want.

I'm sure a few people with more experience with the same engine will be along shortly

Depends where you based really' plenty of places but also plenty to avoid

I need the car to be the best it can be so happy to travel.

Rtech is about 2hrs away which is not really an issue.

happy to know more :)

Shark map on those I cann vouch being very good. Not chasing figures but nice spread of power and a good change on the economy for the better. Also 25% discount at the mo. Can also get sts box so you can put map on at home and take it on and off or tweaked at any point

Decent. What your numbers economy and power wise. Who are these shark people mate ?

Shark are well renowned in briskoda circle and having had the stage 1 map on my dads octavia 1.9pd 105 he is more than impressed with it. His standard 1.9 105 fabia is no where near as fuel efficent or as much fun. It wont set the world alight but drives like a different car and so smooth no great torque surge but be aware that his one does overwhelm the valeo smf conversion rated for 270ft/lb if you accelerate abit early in higher gears. But i think the clutch was abit worn when he got it. But will pull all the way to the limiter with hardly any smoke. Economy up by at least 4-5mpg on normal driving and he doesnt drive very slowly. Check the link below for figures.

I was so impressed with it i had my 07 FR Tfsi mapped on stage 1.5 with precat delete which must be 250bhp and 370/380nm torque. Its a smoother map than stock but will pull like crazy if you really put your foot down.

The sts box is worthwhile and should be avilable too on the 25% off

Thanks for the feedback and help thus far.

Dont get me wrong i am not bothered really about the numbers so long as it drives better.

Is the shark a map done on a rolling road ?- i like the idea of a custom type map if nothing else but to make sure its safe

I am new to all this though so happy to learn ha !

Also is this 25% off something through the site ?

If you take to Shark they have a rolling road. If not to one of their distributors or get the sts sent through so you can do it yourself.

Drop shark an email or look them up on FB they are advertising the discount on there. I got my map done last year on same discount of 25%

Looks like it's between Shark or Rtech then.

Rtech you get it done on the rollers for £250

Shark you can get 25% off making it £187 !
Shark also to the thing where you can put it on and off yourself but at £180 it's a fair bit of extra cash and I can't really see the benefit to me in my situation.

Thoughts please.
