100cell or 200cell sports cat?

100 cell is less restrictive to exhaust flow. But - because the cat acts as a bit of a silencer, 100 cell is louder.
Mine has been fine too, think once the car gets up to temp they are fine, just cold cats don't perform as well. Just tell the inspector to let it run for a while first.

depends which chosen tuner you send your car for an MOT to
if you have a 100 cell cat like I do and take it to a specialised VAG tuner and they know there stuff, then it will pass
when I had mine done they sat revving the engine for about 10mins at 3000rpm to get it red hot, and it passed
if you took it to some numpty kwik fit garage then it will fail, as they dont have a clue how to operate tuned cars

not necessarily im afraid, there is no "fools" guide for this
mine was MOT'd at a VAG specialist established for 30+ years and they work on other tuned VAGs apart from mine. They knew how to test the cat, did, and it still failed
whole lot had to come off in the end and all welds checked and re-fitted and it only just passed right on the limit 2nd test.......

Does a sport CAT make that much difference to the performance or do you need a full system to "feel" the difference???

how does it depend who your tuner is?!
car will throw out increased levels of fuel/hydrocarbons & CO regardless of who maps the car, whether or not the emissions fails on the car is down to the exhuast...not the tuner or the MOT centre

For me its a no brainer; -just get the 200 cell.
While 100 cell should get through an MOT, there is less potential for future issues with 200 cell and the difference is a nats **** of a difference performance wise.

Special MOT Rik, like the ones you used to get when your car has no rear fog light, or small number plates, or maybe wheels that foul the arches, all that kinda stuff.
Jeez man, i mean shen the guy passes it even tho it should fail, i.e. puttin a diff car on the emmisions machine, not failing it for havind a crack on the window ll that sort of stuff!
last mot mine had was a local non vag garage.
no reving or heat building before testing.... not stone cold either but they were no way trying to make it pass.
