Mk1 seat Leon curpa r charge pipe

Hi everyone
I was just wondering if a aftermarket charge pipe will make a difference in turbo noises or is it just for show. Everything is standard apart from the air intake.

They're mostly aesthetic but the debaffled ones will increase noise marginally.
