12v constant for boost gauge

As above where is best to find this. Ive tried the red wiring at the back of the head light switch and this caused my gauge to flash constantly. ( gauge is a glow shift one). Ive currently wired it to the back of my head unit but it seems i didnt get the 12v constant. Any help appreciated.

I used the voltage rail under the steering wheel and used the ignition as +12v source (12v geschakeld)

I took it from behind the fuse panel area. There are 2 plugs you need to disconnect when you remove the lower half of the dash. On the bigger plug the bottom right wire is only live when the ignition is on. I spliced in there

I needed a 12v constant for the memory. All sorted now tho thanks for the help guys
