12V socket

A month with the new car now and I'm still grinning every time I get in it, actually every time I walk past as well

One thing that annoys me though is the cigarette lighter. Since I never use the thing it was quite nicely tucked away in the ashtray on the old Leon, but sits there for all to see on the new one. And of course its within "fiddling with" reach so I constantly find myself pushing it, pulling it, flicking it round and have to slap myself. The one at the back of the centre tunnel has a blanking cap on and I've seen photos from some countries where the front one has a cap over as well instead of the lighter. Does anyone know if you can get a cap fitted to the front one as well?

Hi Sean.

You can get a replacement cover for the ciggie lighter. I am trying to get one for mine but they are on back order from Spain at the moment.

Try your local VW dealer. The golf has a little replacement for the cigarette lighter that just says 12v Socket on it. I reckon it will fit!

I was thinking the same thing. Also its not very easy to plug in a Camera detector or sat nav as its so far from the screen

I run my satnav from the 12v supply on the back of the centre console. I got an extention from Motorworld only cost £4. It tucks down the side of the passenger seat.

this might appear daft but what 12v on the back of the centre console? I thought it as only the one near the hand brake? is thishooking in the the feed for a permanent supply?

Looking from the back seat at your centre console there should be a 12v socket where your rear ashtray is in your Cupra.
