14 pin LED Headlight connector

Hi all,

I've managed to get hold of a mk3 led headlight unit and want to do some bench testing, but cannot find a reliable wiring diagram. so.......

1. Is anyone able to get hold/provide of a wiring diagram for the 14 pin connector on the LED headlights please? I've found the following but this is for a mk6 golf with bi Xenon.

1 - CAN high
2 - CAN Low
3 - N/C
4 - Power for AFS slaves(J667/J668)
5 - GND
6 - Power for ballast
7 - GND

9 - Turn Signal
10 - LED DRL Module
11 - Bi-Xenon Shutter
12 - LED DRL Module
13 - N/C
14 - N/C

2. Where can I find reliable wiring diagrams? As ETKA seems to only give what connector but no info on wiring diagrams.

Thanks for the info ive only posted 3 times on the forums so it wouldn't of been me.

Any idea what SMR is? I sort of expected CAN to be in this position

Mass 31 = GND/ earth
crossing 56b = High Beam?
Road light 56a = low beam?
DRL 30 = DRL

Some of them do match up to the connection diagram i posted earlier.

here is an update to the pinout for clarity

1. Height adjust motor (HAM) Phase 1 +
2. HAM Phase 1 -
3. HAM Phase 2 -
4. HAM Phase 2 +
5. GND
6. Low beam
7. N/C
8. High Beam shutter Not Diagnostic (Over temp warning)
9. Indicator
10. DRL PWM (+12V) when the selector is set to side lights this is 4.5V with auto it is 12V
11. High beam
12. DRL Supply (+12V) Without voltage on PWM the DRL will not light.
13. N/C
14. N/C

So is cable 8 the one that gives the signal for high beam?

I'm fitting LED Bar to be turned on by the high beam signal but again cant find any wiring diagrams that are reliable for the MK3 LED Headlight

Ummm, mine is a 2017, which i think is the first face lift.

I suppose i will have to double check each pin hole for 12v when the high beam indicator is pulled to be sure. Its annoying there are no reliable wiring diagrams from SEAT in the workshop manuals

So i played with a multimeter today.

Strangely the connector to the Led headlight is only 6 wires - so very different to other diagrams. Was yours only 6 wires?

None activated on high beam, which makes T-Taping into the correct wire very difficult.

Anyone know how the LED high beam is controlled and where the wire is?

So it turns out you need to use a Canbus Decoder - http://www.canm8.com/can-bus-interfaces/lighting-control-interfaces/canm8-highbeam.html

You then get the Canbus signal to generate a 12v output when the High beams are activated which you feed into the wiring harness for the LED light bar. Pain in the backside but should be doable.
