Hi about a year ago some one started a thread about dsg and launch control been looking under search but cant kind anything anyone known the link thank you.

I Tried doing launch control in mine according to this little trinket of information I came across (quite interesting) Not sure if its specifically for our DSG's or the 6spd's but most of the stuff checks out.

Anyway, I tried and it held revs around 2.5/ 3k but didnt really feel like I made much of a difference to be honest.

from what i remember it was concluded that launch control wasn't an option on the 7speed DSG, only the 6spd DSG in the golf/leon/a3 etc?

I would imagine it is some computer code started when a sequence of buttons pressed/varibles satisfied- i.e foot on brake, ESP off, foot hard on throttle, let brake go.

I think revo have some sort of software or thing where they can do launch control on the 7 spd DSG.

I could swear i read something about the fr's/cupra's/boc's using a dry clutch system therefore launch control would be too hard going on it, whereas the other VAG cars fitted with launch control use a wet plate clutch system so it can handle it. Not sure how true that is, would be cool to have it though.

I think I read something somewhere about LC being something revo were looking into /were testing out too... but like Williams_27 said, I definitely remember reading about the dry clutch on our DSG boxes not being as good at standing LC as the wet clutch ones which was the reason it's not available on our cars. I dont remember where though.

That's correct, it uses a multi plate dry clutch, so I cannot see launch control working in these cars.

You could rev it unto the 4k limit in N then drop it into D or S, but I don't fancy trying that

Unfortunately our 7 speed DSG doesn't have LC. I imagine only a tuning company such as revo could make a LC program. I'm such a fan of LC that I even asked if WOT Box will enable it but it won't.

The FAQ refers to the 6 speed DSG and its differences in settings between Europe and the States cause in the US, cars with DSG come with LC disabled from the factory for some stupid safety reasons :p

Well i've just taught my mums boyfriend how to do launch control on his A5 3.0TDI with the DSG7 box.

One of you try this.

Put it in sport, press traction control off (dont hold) until the traction control light lights up and stays on.

Press the brake with left foot, plant accelerator with right then let the brake off.

His A5 just absolutely flew off the line with no messing. Someone brave try it, may work.
