Fitted some 15mm spacers yesterday and with passengers in the back there is rubbing. Iv got 17inch OZ supturismo's. Not lowered at all.

I checked the arches and im not sure but are the rear arches already rolled? They definately feel it. How can i stop this rubbing? Dont want to take them off as the really have made my car look even better lol.

Also is this going to happen even more if i fit coilovers? Im in the process of ordering some (as soon as the guy of clubpolo answers my question).

if it is then i may have to reconsider

Any help/suggestions appreciated. Cheers

obviously it will be worse if it rubs on standard suspension

It shouldnt be rubbing though.

I took 4 passengers in my car with my D90s and 25 mil spacers and i didnt get rubbing and it was very low.

Have you checked for rub markings?

The only markings i can find are on the tyres. It only rubs when theres a dip in the road. The marks on the tyre are very light, and very near to the edge so i assume its only just catching.

Would there be markings anywhere else that i could look for?

I didn't think it would rub at all

I dont think the arches are rolled as standard mate as i'm gonna roll mine when i paint it next month.

I'l gonna lowere mine with spax suspension, 60 front and 40 rear, will this kit look ok? i have just bought my 16v cupra sport.

they look better rolled, lol! I was intending dropping it 60mm at rear but been told 60mm front and 40mm rear is better???

Ive got 20mm spacers on the rear and I am down about 65mm. Don't have any trouble with rubbing.
I wouldn't think you have a problem, as long as you're wheels were the correct offset before fitting the spacers

I get the feeling that something is not right here lol. The tyres are 17/205/40. Been on the car since i bought it 3 years ago now.

The rubbing is only with passengers in the rear and i go over humps/dips in the road. With a flat road, no rubbing, even with the passengers.

Iv got the standard suspension so thinking maybe they be a bit too soft? When passengers do get in the rear, the back of my car does drop alot, ie looks like its been lowered.

Surely someone else has had the same setup as me. im confussed as you guys seem to have lowered your cars with spacers and have no problems

Right it definitely only rubs when passengers are in the rear. Went for a drive today on my own (billy no mates lol) and going over speed bumps had no rubbing.

So do you guys think its down to having standard suspension?

P.S The spacers have made a big difference to handling. The 'twitchiness' that people spoke of has definitely gone.
