Looking at speccing up a TDi Stylance and am considering the Sport Pack or the bigger wheels.

I like the look of the wheels, but I don't think I'm fussed about the suspension or the seats. However, £300 for just the wheels and £435 for the lot makes the former a bit of a bum deal doesn't it?

Do they improve handling at all or just make them more vulnerable to kerbing and the ride harsher.

Anyone got any pics of the ones you get, the 17" Avigor ones (preferably on a yellow car)?

Cheers

Sport seats are worth the money in my opinion.

So much nicer than the standard ones. I've been waiting 12 weeks for my Altea because of the seats. They are worth the wait IMHO.

I do a lot of miles, so I'm wondering if a standard car would be more comfy for ride purposes. I have heard the sports suspension makes these cars very harsh - harsher than an FR - and are best avoided. I want the wheels purely for cosmetic reasons. Not actually sure what the Stylance sports seats look like.

If I were you I would get the wheels only. The suspension is too harsh in my opinion. My cupra has softer suspension than the sport or FR but I run a cupra and need this suspension. You do not need it in a stylance.

The sports seats in the Altea are quite nice but I do not like them in the Leon nor do I like the red door trim either.

Get the DSG if you can afford it. Oh and the wheels are much nicer as 17's than 16's
If you are doing a high mileage and are not buying a sports car why spoil it with a jarring ride. I have driven a stylance and it is MUCH more comfortable to drive, ok it doesnt handle quite as well but is still good.

Does anyone have a pic of the car with the 17" Stylance wheels on? Can't find any, only with the 16s or the 5 spokes.

Stylistically is there any difference between the Stylance and the FR on the outside except the FR logos, the wheels and the colour of the mirrors?

I always think the FR looks superb, and want the larger wheels but is there anything else different? The front and rear bumpers are the same aren't they? I assume the suspension is perhaps a bit lower? Just when I have seen them on the road they haven't looked quite as mean.

here's a pic for you:

The wheels on the Stylance are seven spoke ones, I believe that's a Sport, but I got a good idea of it by running the Seat Car Configurator thing on their website, allowed me to see it in yellow too, as it seems the majority of the non FR/Cupras were bought in more muted colours, judging by the total absence of any on the market.

This also confirmed the difference in the bumpers. Not as mean looking but still fairly attractive. I might even enjoy not whacking it on bumps all the time actually!

Anyone got any thoughts on the handling of the Stylance without the stiff suspension amd with ESP but not TCS?

Rob

According to the brochure I have and the website, the optional 17" wheels for the Stylance are a 7 spoke 'Avigor' design. I think the ones here were the ones on the Sport model, not the Stylance. Both are quite attractive, the 5 spokes a bit more imposing and mimic the FR look more.
