Hey guys as the title said yesterday i changed the rear pads on my FR 2.0 tfsi which in its self was a bit of a nightmare i thought changing the brakes would be a 1 man job but it needed 2 people as the rewind tool was so stiff even when using a spider on the end of the rewind tool anyway i got there in the end and the brakes are now changed however the D/S/R sounds like its rubbing constantly and iv never had this before when changing pads on other cars will this stop eventually when the pads bed in or is possible i never rewound the piston back far enough the caliper went back on fine and i copper greased the back of the pads and the caliper housing to prevent squealing

Hi mate
Changed the rear pads only on mine earlier this year and mine did take a few days to bed in. Its because your new pads have the find there natural seating position on your old disc's as they are not perfectly flat like new ones.

thanks for the reply mate i went for a drive roughly 20 miles and the rubbing has died down brakes are a little bitey i.e i apply the brakes the car slows as u would expect but then they randomly bite then releases its hard to describe almost like i was pumping the brakes hard but i imagine that will stop once the pads set them selfs

I did my brakes last Friday...(Pagid branded)

Front pads replaced
Rear pads replaced
Rear discs replaced

No copper grease were applied and no squeaks either, should be all bedded in now! (was at the POD, done over 300miles this weekend!) haha

i was thinking that about the copper grease my self mate when i was doing them the way the pads fit in to the clips on the housing wouldn't really allow then to rub and squeal but i done it anyway cause thats the done thing apparently lol
