2.0 TDI 140 Engine Cover

Hi, just ordered an Altea XL with this engine but I believe that, to costcut, they no longer install an engine cover . I have spoken to the parts dept and it is about £70 to get one supplied (think he called it a "sound deadening cover" and quoted part number 03G103967F/L.

Now I am obviously new to Seat so can anyone tell me is it worthwhile getting this, can it be got cheaper? I see a few covers on ebay for the VAG but not sure if they would fit?

Any advice appreciated.

I don't think you will notice a difference sound wise to be honest, I think it will be more of a cosmetic thing than anything else. I ran my previous car without a cover for several months and did not notice any difference in sound.

I don`t run my car with the cover on as i don`t notice any difference. Waste of plastic if you ask me.
