I put a k&n panel filter in mine which has been ok. I personally felt it did help slightly mid range.
I've since been looking at a k&n 57s kit which consists of a cone in an air box.
Someone on here has one and says it makes a nice sound.

I definitely wouldn't bother with an induction kit mate, its a lot of money to spend just to get a slightly different induction noise... there isnt much you can do in the way of making the 2.0 TDI sound any better aha as for the aftermarket panel filter, again will make next to no difference ( dyno tested ) the only advantage would be that you can service the filter as opposed to replacing it, but then there have been stories of the MAF sensor not liking the oil that may or may not pass from the pre oiled panel filters, there is a debate on this topic heh

my verdict - stick with standard, its a diesel at the end of the day

i have the Neuspeed p-flow on my 2.0 170 and it seems to have better throttle response from the original enclosed box, power wise i couldn't honestly tell, i would go back to standard but i love the sound the p-flow makes.

Can u make a video of the sound please mate?

I will make one tomorrow for you but if it helps, its like a high pitched air getting sucked in when foot pressed down and when you let go/change gears it makes a weird growl noise, which sounds rough but good, nothing to chavy and not so loud, you might get a few videos on youtube if you search, but ill put a vid up tomorrow sometime for you.

besides im due a remap + DPF del + EGR del soon so hopefully i should get the most out of the P-flow, will be RR both standard and P-Flow on remap

If you go for stage 1 in a few weeks you will regret your decision ...

stage 1 205bhp max stage 2 - 215 safe maximum for egt

you can push for 220 on a stage 2 but be prepared for 900c+ egt

So if I ask sharks for stage 2 (218) then ask them to take it back a little is that possible or is it non adjustable?

anything is possible just depends if they want to spend time on it

is it goin on the dyno ?

all watch teh car carefully if its on the dyno and see if you notice the car stutering

you will be limited by boost so it depends how far they can take the boost before it stuters

yes limit boost to around 25psi and ther should be no stuter but for some unexplained resson some cars are worse than others

you wont get any stuter tho and if you do it should be fixed for free

I have tried to explai this to tuner which I used but he said that all limits are increased and 26psi should be no longer a problem but I still experience some stuttering and is bit more than occasional ... is not that bad to be honest and is always in 3rd gear .

you can raise all the limits to 5000 mbar from 2700mbar and the stuter will still happen

the way shark get round the stuter is they make the map progressive so ther is no massive spike of boost

this means you can get max boost and also keep boost under strict controll and get it rite against the boost stuter limit

Is there a lot of alternation to map required to make it more progressive as now I can feel massive boost and than is just cut off twice somemetimes three times when boost hit limiter like you say 26psi ...

Is this just some kind of protection for turbocharger ? can this be taken off from ECU?

this is one of the main tuning problems with the pd170

if you pull the plug from the the turbo actuator and go for a qwick drive you will notice it will do the same stuter all the time

WARNING do not do teh above unless you can afford a new turbo for if it pops the above is just a way to show the stuter
