Just got booked in for stage 2 at shark. He didn't seem too keen on doing it and was advising me to only go for stage 1 :S couldn't really work out y but he didn't seem too confident so now I'm a bit worried

this is one of the main tuning problems with the pd170

if you pull the plug from the the turbo actuator and go for a qwick drive you will notice it will do the same stuter all the time

WARNING do not do teh above unless you can afford a new turbo for if it pops the above is just a way to show the stuter

No i will not try this no worries ... I just want to get it sorted .

do you still have this problme on GTB ?

yes the problem is still ther but i have bypassed it

for my own car i am not botherd it works for me but on a friends car i am not sure i would do it like i have on my own

i still have lots more things to test before i say it carnt be done i just kno around 6 months ago no tuner in the world was able to tune this car properly without lieing to the ecu somewere to get past the stuter

things may have changed in the past 6 months ?

stuter is now solved

if you are experiancing this stuter i can 99% say i can fix it :)

As the filter make no real difference would I be ok adding a universal induction cone kit to get the induction noise??

No, will suffer from heat soak. And you will lose performance. There really is no point in messing with induction for performance gains. If you do want a bit more noise if say go for a carbon enclosed induction kit. But it's just going to make the tdi tractor like noise louder lol. If you want something that sounds good get a petrol Cupra or type r and stick an induction kit on it or get a bike! Bikes are good!

I have had 2 Leon FRs and there is absolutely no point trying to get a diesel to sound nicer

its a tractor FFS!!!

I didn't even bother remapping it, I bought it for economy, if the engine had more power I'd only end up driving faster and getting shite MPG!!

As Betty says, don't bother wasting the money. Even after you've done all that it just sounds like an Asmatic with breathing difficulties lol if you want a nice sound don't get a diesel ;) or get the Audi 3.0 V6 TDI, those sound alright :)

Well I heard one and it sounded good on a mk2 before. The thing is all the above would only cost like 40quid. Same as a pannel.
